possibly because of technical differences in the standards) whereas the NTSC was not. The video and audio for the PAL version of Yu-gi-oh! was sped up when it aired (not sure of the reason. With research as to why this is the case I could find little information but from what I could find this is because for the first 3 seasons the PAL region versions of the episodes were used instead of NTSC. The main and most frustrating of these its that the audio and video for series 1-3 is sped up over the normal speed of the episode. While I enjoy the set there are some downsides. The big thing i was surprised about is that the video quality is very reasonable considering the series hasn't been remastered in any way. As well as this as far as I can tell it is cheaper than buying the previously released individual series sets (at time of writing). Starting with the positives this is the easiest way to get the complete original series on DVD. This release of the complete original series has a lot of ups and downs.
